About

Who is behind this

I build the tools I use, because the alternative was doing the bookkeeping myself.

Fifteen-plus years of enterprise UX, mostly inside organizations that do not put their software in an app store: Eneco, Schiphol, the Dutch Tax Administration, and a run of insurers, logistics operators and public bodies before them.

The work is always some version of the same thing. A system that ten thousand people are paid to use. A domain vocabulary that three departments each define differently. A stakeholder who wants a redesign and cannot say what would count as better. A retiring operations expert whose knowledge exists in exactly one head.

What I actually do

I am usually the only designer on the engagement. That shapes everything. There is no research team to hand a transcript to, no design ops function keeping the glossary current, and no second pair of eyes on a review. So the system has to do that work, or it does not get done.

That is where all three products came from. Not from a course I took. From the parts of my own job that kept failing the same way.

  • {the brain} solves the memory problem. A project vault an LLM maintains, so what the SME said in week two is still findable in month nine.
  • {the skills} solve the process problem. A skill library where every claim carries a pointer back to a line in a transcript, and no design starts before the bar is agreed.
  • {the system} joins the two. The skills run as one loop, where the output of one step is the input of the next.

The corpus

Behind the material is a 345-post corpus on enterprise UX: legacy migrations, stakeholder politics, shadow-IT spreadsheets, evidence standards, and the ROI arguments that get design work funded. The skill library cites it rather than restating it, which is why the skills stay short.

Positions I hold

  • An uncited insight is a liability, not a shortcut.
  • A persona without evidence is a fiction with a stock photo.
  • Facts are the agent's job. Decisions are yours. That line never moves.
  • Muscle memory is a real cost. Fifteen years of it outweighs your card layout.
  • If it cannot be checked, it is not a definition of done.
